Rooted in Hull Graphic Design Master Plan

A master plan presents an overview of the businesses vision and goals; more specifically in this instance relating to graphic design. A rough master plan was formed at the University of Hull within the 2021 Graphic Design cohort for Rooted in Hull. This plan shows the businesses aims in a broad sense and ideas to aid in achieving them.

From the rough plan a more organised digital master plan was then formed.

To keep in line with the graphic standards for Rooted in Hull, the colours from their logo (Pantone 7579C, Pantone 107C and 346C) were used to separate the four primary areas to focus on for Rooted in Hull. The text is also similar to the font used in the logo to keep it familiar and black text has been used to contrast with the colours.

The following are the ideas brought by the 2021 cohort for Graphic Design at the University of Hull:

  • Provide an app.
  • Develop a following on social media.
  • Post to TikTok to get younger generations involved.
  • Getting sponsors from local businesses.
  • Collaborate with other farms.
  • Posters.
  • Selling veg boxes.
  • Merch.
  • Selling pizza.
  • Making donation easy.
  • Providing good food to the community.
  • Arts and crafts.

Following review of the master plan, it was decided that the main focus for the original artwork for this development log would be a t-shirt design and designs for a pizza project for Rooted in Hull.
