After being successful in getting an internship with Run With it, I have been working with them since February 2023, doing a combination of both teaching and graphic design work.
Run With it is a charity based in Hull that creates enrichment days for children and young adults in the local area. They successfully manage to create a practical environment for learning, that encourages young people who may be struggling with school, to participate.
I was first asked to look at their website and update the staff members on the about us page and also to add a news page. Although I had not used Squarespace previously, I soon realised that it was quite similar to WordPress and soon got the hang of it.
The second thing I was asked to do was a news article for the news page using their branding style. As there was not any branding guides, I used the inspect tool on their webpage to get their brand colours and ensured I looked at their website thoroughly to ensure it was consistent with their brand.
Once created I added them to their website, as a PDF link that opens to a new window.
Following this I was given some feedback forms that the children had filled in about their experience at Run With it, and asked to find a way to bring it together for their testimonials page. With the type of information and layout of their testimonials page, I decided to correlate the information as a animated infographic.
I was then given the opportunity to create a group task for the children and decided to have the focus as advertising.
