An infographic is a way for brands to educate and inform through different elements, such as text, imagery and video, in a way that can lead to a better understanding for their audience (Infogram, 2023).
For this task, an infographic had to be designed for a night club with clickable elements and interaction. Infographics can be extremely effective, especially when trying to market a product or service, because it allows you to pack lots of information into a small space and keep users engaged (Miss Details, 2015).
The concept for this project was to create a nightclub for those who do not like to be up late. To do this, the nightclub would have a closing time of 9pm, which would hopefully encourage those who potentially have work the next day, to attend the nightclub.
For this brand, it was decided that a character would be created that could be used in advertising, including for print the club, to make the brand more recognisable to its customers. Due to the sloths sleepy nature ( Animal Hype, 2023) and the target audience being people who want to be in bed by 9pm, it was decided that a sloth along with a colour palette centred around blue (which is known to be associated with sleep) would be used for this brand.
Reflection:
Initially for my infographic, I attempted to create it so that it started with the sloth snoring and have a button appear that lead to the animation of the clouds appearing. Only when I did this it kept crashing when I tested it out. This lead to me simplifying the animation so that the clouds appearing was triggered by timer rather than from a button.
For future submissions I’d try to allow myself more time to learn about the software, so I am aware of its capabilities and limitations, more specifically on the coding element of animate.
