Original Artwork 2

For this final piece of artwork created for Rooted in Hull, it was decided that two t-shirt designs would be created; one for customers and one for staff at the bakery.

The first design for customers to purchase from Rooted in Hull

This design incorporates the client’s already approved logo, making the t shirt recognisable to Rooted in Hull. The wording has been changed to “I’ve been Rooted in Hull” to provide reference to the customers roots in Hull and to give a sense of achievement and helping out to the customers. This design can be used to sell merch to customers and can easily be converted to other items such as hoodies, sweatshirts and even tote bags. By selling merch to customers Rooted in Hull can increase their income and put profit to further their cause. T shirts with this design can be purchased very cheaply online (£7.70 at inkthreadable.com) which gives a decent profit margin that can be had.

Front of employee design.
Back of employee design.

The front of the employee design for the Rooted in Pizza aspect of this assignment, gives an idea of the persons job role, with the back using part of the Rooted in Hull logo that is interchangeable depending on the employee name. This makes staff easily recognisable and allows customers to place a name to the staff member which will help build a rapport between the staff member and the customer.

Most online stores will be able to print the designs onto XS-5XL, which promotes inclusivity. It would be advised that Rooted in Hull ensure that all t shirts sold to the public are the same cost to the public to prevent discrimination due to size. They could also offer a range of colours and products to promote sales and ensure the message of Rooted in Hull’s values are prominent in the shop to make customers feel like they’re doing good by purchasing. They could consider doing something along the lines of “1 t shirt purchase provides X hours education to communities” and base the hours on how much it costs Rooted in Hull to run X hours education in certain settings.
