For the social media aspect of this project I wanted to create a video showing the audience what it’s like to have ADHD, hoping it will encourage those who know someone with ADHD to learn more and connect with those with ADHD, and encourage them to learn about their condition.
To do this, I initially planned to borrow a camera from the university, but unfortunately the device would turn off when I tried to record, which led to me using my phone as a recording device.
I recorded footage of me getting out of bed and walking around my cluttered house. I then added audio recordings of my voice to allow the audience to hear my inner thoughts.
The video starts with the text ‘POV: You’ve just woken up with ADHD’. The ‘POV’ phrase is a phrase often used on social media and indicates that you are showing the audience something from another point of view.

To ensure this is effective I will look at engagement and the analytics for the video and use this in place of user testing. If the audience does not interact or if the video is deemed ineffective for the purpose, I will consider other avenues to encourage the audience to my website.
Another aspect of social media to consider for the brand is live streaming. For this aspect I considered how people could be educated on ADHD in a live format when the videos showing the information about ADHD used animation.
Following research into how best to do it, I found Adobe Character Animator. Character Animator allows the user to create a ‘puppet’ which is then combined with real-time footage to create animation. This software also has a stream feature, which would allow for live streaming with the ADHD brain character appearing to answer questions.
Live streaming is a method used by the most successful brands to encourage engagement and make their brand recognisable (Burns, 2020). By using live streaming to educate, it is more likely to get visitors to the website.
